Pool repair in Arcadia, AZ from Nevergreen Pools: skimmers, valves, unions, plumbing, and pool cleaners. Partnered with Beyond Pool Cleaning. Call today.
Nevergreen Pools provides pool repair in Arcadia, covering cracked or broken skimmers and skimmer lids, broken return fittings and eyeballs, leaking unions and valves at the equipment pad, stuck or broken diverter valves and valve actuators, cracked plumbing at the pad, main drain and skimmer basket problems, and pool cleaner repairs, with a straight answer on repair versus replacement for whatever part is involved.
Repair calls here cluster around monsoon season, when heavy rain and flood irrigation push groundwater up under the deck and pad, and the shifting ground works already-worn unions and fittings loose faster than the dry months do. Call us if a skimmer lid is cracked or missing a corner, if a return eyeball spins freely instead of aiming water where you point it, if you find water pooling around a union or valve body on the pad, if a diverter valve or its actuator is stuck between settings, if the filter pressure climbs faster than it used to between cleanings, if a pool cleaner has stopped moving or lost suction, or if a skimmer or pump basket is cracked and won't seat right in its housing.
We serve this part of Phoenix in partnership with Beyond Pool Cleaning, a pool service company based nearby in Scottsdale. Call to get a technician out, or book your first visit online.

The visit starts at the equipment pad with a pressure check, comparing pump inlet pressure to the filter gauge to see whether a problem is upstream in the plumbing, downstream at the filter, or in a valve that isn't fully opening. From there we walk every union, valve, and fitting we can reach, looking for the white crust that means a fitting has been weeping for months and the darker wet stain that means something let go recently. A cracked union usually gets a straight swap of the union and the few inches of pipe around it, not a full re-plumb, unless the break points to a bigger problem underneath the deck.
Flood irrigation on older lots raises the water table enough that it moves the ground under the pad and the pipe runs leading to the main drain, which is a common reason plumbing that has been fine for years starts cracking at a fitting or a glued joint. On pools from the 1950s through the 1970s, that plumbing is often the original galvanized or copper, and a crack in one section is usually a sign the rest of that run is close behind, so we check the material and age of the whole line before recommending a single-spot fix. On newer pebble pools with schedule 40 PVC, a cracked fitting is more often a one-time break from ground movement or a hard freeze than a sign of system-wide failure.
Diverter valves and their actuators take a hard hit from hard water and heat. Scale builds inside the valve body and on the actuator's gears, and a valve that used to switch cleanly between the skimmer and main drain, or between pool and spa, starts sticking halfway or stops responding to the automation at all. We open the valve, clear the scale, and replace the actuator if the gears are stripped rather than just sticky. Citrus, palm, and mesquite debris is the other constant here. Leaves, fruit, and fronds overload the skimmer basket and pump basket faster than normal use would, and a basket that's been run cracked or overfull for a season is usually why pressure climbs early between cleanings. We replace cracked baskets and lids outright, since a taped or wired-shut lid will not hold up through another monsoon.
Pool cleaners get checked the same way: hose, wheels or tracks, and the valve or booster pump feeding them, so we know if a cleaner that's lost suction needs a part or just a clean intake.
A pool that's been repaired right holds steady pressure between cleanings, switches cleanly between skimmer and main drain, and doesn't leave a wet patch on the deck or the pad. The cleaner moves the way it's supposed to, the skimmer lid seats flush, and nothing on the pad is held together with tape or a hose clamp that was only meant to be temporary. That's the standard we work to on every repair, not just a fix that gets the pool running again for a few weeks.
Left alone, a small crack in a union or a stuck valve doesn't stay small. A weeping union under the deck keeps eroding the ground beneath it, which is already softer than it should be with the water table this high, and that erosion is what eventually cracks the pipe outright instead of just the fitting. A cracked skimmer basket that keeps getting forced back into place breaks further and starts passing debris straight into the pump, which wears the impeller faster than it should. A diverter valve that's left sticking usually stops working altogether within a season, and by then it's a full valve replacement instead of a cleaning and a new actuator.
If something on the pad doesn't look or sound right, or the filter pressure has been climbing for a few weeks straight, call us and we'll get a technician out to look at it before the part that's failing takes another part down with it.
